I had been feeling great and rested and I was pretty excited that the Hamburg Half is only a few days away.
I woke up this morning with a stiff neck. It was hard to get up, and as soon as I was up, I felt nausea due to the pain.
I got to an orthopaedic specialist and called my boss to tell her I am going to be late. After only an hour (I usually sit in the waiting room for 5+hours!), I had a sick certificate for today and prescription for painkiller and pills for muscle relaxation. Pretty sure that I can blame the air conditioning in our office for making me feel like this. A stiff neck because of air conditioning might seem mini, but the pain keeps getting worst.
The thing that is running around in my head right now sure is the question of if, and how, I can run the half in just two days. Running the Hamburg Half is important to me. It is there I want to run the 21,1 km in under two hours for the first time. Somehow, I feel like this is a milestone for me as a runner and I want that milestone to happen this weekend.
I am resting right now, making sure my back muscles stay warm. Keep your fingers crossed!
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?
