Berlin Marathon Training: Week 4

Last week was my first rest week of the training cycle. I can say that I was quite happy about it. After the Århus Half Marathon, my legs were sore. Nevertheless, I also had a race on Friday, so it was a rest week and a race week. Cause that’s how I roll…

Week 1 (20. May-26. May 2013)
Week 2 (27. May-2. June 2013)
Week 3 (3. June- 9. June 2013)

Week 4 (10. June- 16. June 2013):

MarathonWoche4

by the way: add me on dailymile

Tuesday: 7.1 km in 46:40 @ 6:35 min/km
(Planned: 45 minutes easy)

Wednesday: 6.3 km in 42:01 @ 6:40 min/km & 15 min running ABC
(Planned: 45 minutes easy & 15 min running ABC)

Friday: Night Run 7.5 k in 38:23 @ 5:07 min/km

Sunday: 90 minutes Swim Class & 3.31 km run/walk with my mother in 30:22 @ 9:10 min/km

24,08 km or 2 hours, 37 minutes of running.
1 hour, 30 min of swimming
Total of 3 hours, 37 minutes of training

Ups of the week:

  • The race, of cause. I always like to meet other runners.

Downs of the week:

  • I still haven’t done strength training. Yes, I suck and I am the dumbest runner on earth.

To sum up my feelings: I finally realised that you can (and have to) run really slow during most of the training runs. I am jogging with a 6:40 min/km pace during the week? It doesn’t matter, I can still run a Sub 5:10 pace on race day!

16 weeks until Berlin…
