We haven’t seen each other this year yet (at least not here), so I am glad to see you all survived the start into 2012. Happy New Year!
I signed up for my first real race since 2008! But lets start from the beginning.
After spending the holidays at home with my family, I traveled back to Denmark on Sunday and have already rocked three exams in 2012 and the first week of the year isn’t even over yet (well, maybe the “rocked” is slightly excessive but “survived” sounded to negative and I hope for the best).
December probably wasn’t the best month to start a blog, especially a running blog, but I will get back into running this weekend and I hope I will be back to my running routine at the end of this month, when the craziness of examinations time is over.
So, December might not have been a month filled with running, but it sure was a month full of successful shopping in my favorite running stores.
I do not spent a lot of my time shopping, but when I visit my hometown, money is usually spend much easier.
I found a pair of knee tights from ASICS on sale, and I had to have them, because their purple and spring is waiting to arrive. (Or I am waiting for spring to arrive. Whatever.)
Unfortunately, spring is probably not arriving anytime soon, so I also got myself prepared for a possible snow storm (you never know) or a drop of degrees (more likely than a snow storm right now), with a Nike’s running gift which consists of running gloves and a hat.
One thing I am really excited about this weekend is to try out my new running shoes.
The Nike Air Pegasus +27- Gore-Tex version! I usually run in Brook Ghost, but my first running shoes were Pegasus and if I do not like to run in them, I can bring them back to the store and get another pair of other (Brook?) shoes instead. I also run my first half marathon in Pegasus, so I guess I will be ok cheating on my Brooks. I like having the change to decide between which shoe I run with for each run I do. Short runs are usually done in the ECCO BIOM (very Danish of me, I know).
Speaking of half marathons. I am one step closer to one of my goals for 2012.
I am officially registered for my second half marathon on March 24.
The race will be held on a new build freeway one week before it opens for traffic. I think is going to be a “once in a lifetime” experience.
Tell me: have you ever raced in a place with was extraordinary? Extremely beautiful scenery, uncommon location or simply breathtaking? I am in need for inspiration for future racing goals!
